A compilation disc on Blu-ray that features the first two God of War games. These PS2 games are remastered and pack 60 frames-per-second action, 720p graphics, and PlayStation Network Trophy support.

In God of War, players take on the role of Kratos, a Spartan warrior. Plagued by the nightmares of his past, the ash covered warrior would do anything to be free of his debt to the Gods and the memories that haunt him. For ten years he has labored for Olympus, now on the verge of losing all hope, the Gods have given him one last task. Destroy Ares, the God of War. Armed with the deadly chained Blades of Chaos, Kratos will have to overcome armies of mythological monsters, legions of undead soldiers, and dangerous and brutal landscapes.

In God of War II, Kratos sits atop his Olympus throne, as the new God of War – far more ruthless than Ares ever was. To end his continued torment, Kratos must journey to the far reaches of the earth and defeat untold horrors and alter that which no mortal, or god has ever changed…his fate.

This post is part of Mashable’s Spark of Genius series, which highlights a unique feature of startups. If you would like to have your startup considered for inclusion, please see the details here. The series is made possible by Microsoft BizSpark.

    graphite-smName: Graphite

Quick Pitch: Graphite is an easy-to-use web-based application that allows individuals to calculate calorie intake and expenditures.

Genius Idea: Keeping track of what you eat and how many calories you burn is the key to losing or maintaining weight. Graphite takes a fast, no-nonsense approach to logging and graphing your caloric and exercise information.

Graphite is a caloric tracking tool that makes it extremely easy to record and keep track of what you are eating, how many calories you are burning (based on your daily activities) and what your different caloric and fitness goals need to be in order to achieve a certain weight.

What we like about Graphite is that the interface is very, very clean and easy to use. There aren’t lots of options or buttons; you just have access to you information and your dietary goals. You can enter in what you eat and Graphite’s library of food sources will pull up results in real time that you can add to keep track of your calorie counts. Likewise, you can add in your exercise regimes to track the calories you are burning.

Graphite comes with tools that tell you what your daily caloric baseline is for maintaining your current weight. You can then set goals for how much weight you want to lose and see your caloric numbers change accordingly. You have access to graphs that chart your weight, exercise and caloric intake over time and you can see how you are progressing towards your goals.

You can sign up for a 30-day free trial of Graphite but after that, the service is $5 a month or $50 a year to use. For users who want an easy, cruft-free way to track dietary changes, Graphite is a great option.

Do you track your diet and energy regimes? What tools do you use? Let us know in the comments.

Heard that they're remaking Clash of the Titans? Well, forget the stately pace, white robes and fluffy hair of the 1981 Harry Hamlin movie: This new version will be a kick-ass, balls-out actioner, and Yahoo! Movies gives us a taste of that in a new teaser trailer posted today.

Startup Pip.io brings
an OS to Facebook’s world

Pip.io is a very small and very new Silicon Valley startup.

The fact that the startup is located on the same street as Facebook in Palo Alto, Calif., is no accident.

Pip.io’s creators are building, they say in this interview, an operating system for the new real time social Web that refines and improves on what Facebook started.

What does that mean?

Pip.io’s Web site where users can sign up for an invitation to participate in a public beta of the application offers a brief summary of where the designers want to go.

“Pip.io is a social operating system that aims to give people the ability to share and communicate in real-time,” a brief overview says in part. “You can search what other people are communicating about in real-time based on contextual, geographical, and chronological relevance.”

We visited Pip.io to meet with Leo Shimizu, the CEO, and David Chen, the CTO, to hear their thoughts of where the social  real time Web is going and get a quick tour of Pip.io application.
