Pip.io is a very small and very new Silicon Valley startup.

The fact that the startup is located on the same street as Facebook in Palo Alto, Calif., is no accident.

Pip.io’s creators are building, they say in this interview, an operating system for the new real time social Web that refines and improves on what Facebook started.

What does that mean?

Pip.io’s Web site where users can sign up for an invitation to participate in a public beta of the application offers a brief summary of where the designers want to go.

“Pip.io is a social operating system that aims to give people the ability to share and communicate in real-time,” a brief overview says in part. “You can search what other people are communicating about in real-time based on contextual, geographical, and chronological relevance.”

We visited Pip.io to meet with Leo Shimizu, the CEO, and David Chen, the CTO, to hear their thoughts of where the social  real time Web is going and get a quick tour of Pip.io application.
